Where do my donations go?
Your donation builds a network of staff, interns, and volunteers who support, empower and inspire our elder neighbors to remain vibrant resources in our communities, and creates the kind of neighborhoods we all want to grow older in.
With each passing month, NEST coordinates an increasingly complex array of programs and services. We are proud to be the largest village in Seattle and one of the busiest of the 200 villages nationally.
2016 has been twice as busy as last year. We are coordinating more member-run groups, community gatherings and volunteer services than ever before – more than 600 volunteer hours monthly and 30+ events monthly! We have navigated this growth even while our income has remained steady with the help of more volunteers and members than ever before.
Your financial support means that we have the team to effectively coordinate the people and the details needed to navigate this journey together.
Why do you have this campaign when I already pay a membership fee?
NEST’s current operating budget is approximately $200,000. Our membership dues cover only 40% of this budget. The remaining funds come from generous supporters like you, along with business sponsors and grants.
