Group lessons for absolute beginners through intermediate level. Let’s start from the very beginning, and learn the basics needed to enjoy making music with this delightful instrument. Learn: what, where and how to buy an instrument and accessories or bring a ukulele if you have one; basic instrument parts and care; how to hold and tune your ukulele; strumming techniques and patterns; how to read chord diagrams and use four basic chords you need to play 100’s of songs you probably already know; how to change keys to fit your voice; how to play simple melodies string by string; and good practice techniques and routine.
Additional learning resources and interesting websites will also be discussed. Ability to read music NOT REQUIRED.

Ukulele Song Circle - open to all skill levels. Let’s play ukulele and sing together - we’ll explore a wide variety of genres including folk, Hawaiian (of course), jazz standards, pop, rock, tin pan alley, blues, and others. We’ll start with readily available ukulele song resources, learn how to make our own song sheets using our computer word processing programs, and maybe develop our own NEST songbook. Bass and
cajon players welcome. No guitars, please.
