High Tea: Normal Aging vs. Not Normal Aging*

This interactive workshop will develop understanding of normal brain function, aging
brain changes, and brain changes specific to dementia. With new understanding of the
primary sensory input and processing systems and how they protect and discriminate
as dementia changes the brain, they WHY of many dementia behaviors will become
easier to understand and even predict.
Annie Jacobsen’s Family & Systems Theory Master’s Degree pairs with 14+ years
dedicated to improving the independence, dignity and joy of those served by the elder
industry. Background as an adult-education teacher, multi-business founder and owner,
director of supportive services team to over 6,000 residents, and her lifelong interest in
behavioral and brain-science, Annie is an advocate for elevating awareness, quality of
life and respect for those living with dementia. Through awareness and skills training for
family members, paid care personnel, first responders and anyone else she can
engage, Annie brings compassion and wisdom to the world of dementia.
